Description
Bandai MGA-1600 Convertible, Japan, late 1950s – early 1960s, friction drive, lithographed, painted and plated “chrome” trim with rubber tires. Note the toy is right-hand drive, though likely destined for the US market.
The accompanying package reflects cost-reductions by using retouched photographs of the prototype item (in this case, an MGA) versus hand-drawn illustrations from just a few years prior. Bandai stock number 921. Another item from the king of Japanese vehicle toy manufacturers.
